DUBAI, April 3 (Xinhua) -- United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain on Tuesday discussed ways of enhancing "fraternal" cooperation of the two Gulf states, UAE state news agency WAM reported.

United Arab Emirates (UAE) Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum met Tuesday with Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.

During the meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the 2018 Arab Media Forum, the two politicians also discussed regional issues and means of maintaining the security and stability of the region.

The UAE and Bahrain, along with Saudi Arabia and Egypt, are part of the "Arab Quartet."

The group severed diplomatic and economic ties with fellow Gulf state Qatar on June 5 2017, accusing the gas-rich state of supporting "extremism and terrorism." Qatar denied the charges.
