SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Life across Muslim majority areas of restive Indian-controlled Kashmir including the capital city Srinagar Saturday remained paralyzed for the second straight day due to curfew and shutdown called by separatists, following the killing of top militant commander, police said.

Authorities fearing clashes have deployed hundreds of India’s paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and policemen in full-riot gears across towns to impose strict restrictions and disallow protest demonstrations. These men have blocked roads by placing barricades and coils of concertina wire to impede free movement of people and vehicles.

The restrictions were imposed and educational institutions closed in region following the killing of head of region's al-Qaida affiliate Ansar Gazwatul Hind - Zakir Musa on Thursday evening at village Dadsara of Tral in Pulwama district, about 39 km south of Srinagar.

Even the mobile internet service was snapped in the region and continues to remain suspended.
