Domestic film featuring guide dog to hit cinemas

BEIJING, July 21 (Xinhua) -- "Little Q," a domestic film telling the tales of a guide dog, will hit Chinese cinemas on July 25.

The film follows the life of Little Q, a labrador trained to be a guide dog since he was a pup, who loyally accompanied an ill-tempered pastry chef suffering from blindness.

Adapted from Japanese novelist Kengo Ishiguro's acclaimed novel, the film's plot has been given a Chinese twist, yet stays true to the touching story of how a lonely heart finds solace in the loving companionship of a loyal friend, according to director Wing-Cheong Law.

"We hope that the public will have a better understanding of guide dogs after viewing this film, " said Law.

The novel has already seen a film adaptation in 2004. Titled "Quill," the earlier adaptation was known by audiences for being exceptionally tear-jerking.
